In part 2 of our “Vintage Jesus” sermon series, Pastor Grantley explained in his message that the 3 things Jesus came to do were to seek us, save us, and sacrifice His life for us.

All of us are born “lost” and separated from God because of our sin. God values each and every one of us. His love for each of us is so great he seeks each one of us out and rejoices when we are “found”. Some of us are lost and don’t even know it. Others of us are very lost, and it is often when we are the most lost that our hearts are the most ready to receive Him. Before any of us were believers God sought us, and He is still seeking for those who are still lost.

Not only does he seek us, but he loves us so much he forgives us and provides us with a way, THE way, to reunite us with God. That way is through belief in Jesus Christ. Not only does it save us from a life of hopelessness, worry, and stress, but it is the way to a life of power, perspective, and purpose. Most of all, it is the way to eternal life with Him.

Lastly, Jesus came to sacrifice His life for us. He gave his life as a ransom for all of our sin. His life was the price that was paid to redeem all of us from the bondage of sin and death….Hallelujah!
