What's the Big Deal About Membership?

Isn't okay if I show up on a regular basis?

Yes, but consider the advantages of finding your place at NorthStar:

  1. It identifies you as a genuine believer. (Ephesians 2:19; Romans 12:5)
  2. It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. (Galatians 6:1-2; Hebrews 10:24-25)
  3. It gives you a place to discover and use your gifts in ministry. (1 Corinthians 12:4-27)
  4. It places you under the spiritual protection of godly leaders. (Hebrews 13:17; Acts 20:28-29)
  5. It gives you the accountability you need to grow. (Ephesians 5:21)

What Do I Have to Do to Join?

There are three steps to becoming a member at NorthStar Church

  1. Becoming a Christ-follower - a person who recognizes the only way to heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Baptism by Immersion - which means to be dunked under water after you become a Christ-follower. When you closely study the Bible, the only way that people were baptized was by immersion.
  3. Completing Discovering NorthStar 101. Before you find your place, we want you to know all about our vision, plans, and purposes for our church. Before you get on the plane, you have to know the destination.

Once I Join, What Do I Do?

One of the key priorities of NorthStar is to help you grow and to harvest your true potential. The best way to do that is to encourage you to participate in four key ways at NorthStar.

  1. Attend the weekly worship service.
  2. Commit to a Growth Group where you can build meaningful relationships on purpose, within NorthStar.
  3. Get involved in one of our numerous ministries and use your talents and abilities to bless others.
  4. Show God's love in a practical way to our community through a wide variety of community service projects
